SIU awards grants to 10 sustainability projects

The university is celebrating Earth Day 2020 in a virtual way today (April 22) by announcing the newest round of Green Fund grant award winners with 10 projects receiving awards totaling $37,318.


SIU is cancelling summer camps for 2020

University officials have made the difficult decision to cancel a wide variety of summer camps and conference housing for summer 2020 due to ongoing efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19 in Illinois and the rest of the country.


SIU students volunteered to help Taylorville apartment complex residents under quarantine

Nearly a dozen public health and health recreation profession students volunteered to conduct daily well-checks for 130 residents in a Taylorville apartment complex earlier this month after they were quarantined.


CARES Act participant information on loans and withdrawals is available

Information for faculty and staff who contribute or who have contributed to 403b plans on options as a result of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act is available. In addition, the deadline for 2019 Individual Retirement Account contributions is extended to July 15. More information is available on the faculty-staff webite.


Sustainability Council applications being accepted

Faculty, staff and students are invited to get involved in the effort to make the university a more sustainable campus. Applications are being accepted for positions on the Sustainability Council. The application submission deadline is Monday, April 27.
