Veterans invited to free event featuring hiking, canoeing, kayaking and more

A national veterans advocacy organization’s new Southern Illinois chapter is partnering with the university’s Veteran Adventures program for a big kickoff event on Aug. 31 and all veterans are welcome.

‘Taste of SIU’ is Thursday

Faculty, staff and students are invited to the second “Taste of SIU” from 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday in the Student Center Ballrooms.

Bavarian youth band will be featured in free concert at SIU

The Bavarian Youth Band: Jungendblasorchester Bibertal (JBO), comprised of 50 talented young European musicians, will perform Wednesday night at Shryock Auditorium. The performance is open to the public.

Reminder: SIU’s University Museum accepting art submissions for exhibits in 2020

As a long-standing representation of SIU’s commitment to the arts, humanities and sciences, the Museum welcomes art of all types, regardless of style or subject matter. Submission is open until October 1, with accepted pieces chosen by that day.
