Today, I would like to talk about a particular program that blends different facets of our mission while still being relevant to the interests of modern college students: the Fermentation Science Institute.

Donations supporting students, programs increase by 25 percent

Donors contributed more than $25.2 million last year to support students and programs, a 25 percent increase over the previous year.


Buys appointed interim law school dean 

Cindy Galway Buys, acting associate dean for academic affairs in the School of Law, will serve as interim dean of the school following an announcement by Chancellor Carlo Montemagno.


‘Illinois Ethics Matters’ newsletter available

The monthly Illinois Ethics Matters newsletter for July is available. The Office of Executive Inspector General publishes the newsletter to allow state employees to stay informed of current issues relating to ethics. The SIU System Ethics Office website is at ethics.siu.edu. The website contains information regarding how to file a complaint, relevant contact information, and many other resources.


Local high school students bring the hilarious “Once Upon a Mattress” to the MSP stage 

“Once Upon a Mattress,” the final show of the McLeod Summer Playhouse 2018 Season of Female Empowerment, runs July 26-29, and features local high school students as part of the All Southern High School Theatre Project (ASHSTP).


RSS hosts ‘Member Appreciation Day’ Aug. 3

Recreational Sports and Services will host Member Appreciation Day on Aug. 3 at the Student Recreation Center. Members can bring up to three guests during regular business hours from 5:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
