Event promotions require ADA statement

The campus ADA Task Force, which works to ensure compliance with the federal Americans with Disabilities Act, requires offices hosting university events to include the following statement on promotional materials: “Individuals with disabilities are welcomed. Call 618/453-5738 to request accommodations.” Promotional materials include flyers, posters, advertisements, web pages and email messages promoting campus events to the public, including students, faculty, staff, community members and others. Questions about the work of the task force may be addressed to its chair, Casey Parker, of the Office of Diversity and Equity. Email universitycommunications@siu.edu or call 618/453-2518 with questions regarding use of the statement on marketing materials.
