The university will offer a technical resource management class at John A. Logan College this fall -- marking the first time in the college’s nearly 50-year history that SIU Carbondale has offered a course on the Carterville campus. More


Open lab for instructors is Aug. 17

An opportunity for instructors to receive personalized assistance with SIUonline Desire2Learn (D2L) is available Wednesday, Aug. 17, in Morris Library. The Center for Teaching Excellence will hold an open lab from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Room 174 to answer questions ahead of the fall semester. Pre-registration is not necessary; stop by at your convenience.


Faculty, staff can help students through mentoring

Faculty and staff have an opportunity to help students reach their goals by becoming a mentor to undergraduate or graduate students. Students will be matched with professional staff across campus for the 2016-2017 academic year. This is an opportunity to help students explore their career options and gain real-world experience by working with a mentor. ‘Illinois Ethics’ newsletter is available

The monthly “Illinois Ethics Matters” newsletter for August 2016 is now available.  The Office of Executive Inspector General publishes the newsletter to allow state employees to stay informed of current issues relating to ethics. The SIU system Ethics Office website contains information regarding how to file a complaint, relevant contact information, and many other resources.


CTE offers classroom equipment training

Faculty, staff and teaching assistants who will be teaching in the university’s open-access, technology-enhanced classrooms are encouraged to attend classroom equipment training this month. More
