SIU Today - December 17, 2015

Message from the Chancellor

You may be aware that recent media reports inaccurately indicated that SIU Carbondale might close if there is no state budget by the end of June. President Dunn and I assure you that this statement is not true and did not come from the university. SIU has no intention of closing.

While the unprecedented lack of state funding to date is a major challenge that may affect aspects of university operations, SIU Carbondale remains committed to fulfilling its academic mission and commitment to students.

Brad Colwell
Interim Chancellor
