SIU Today - October 01, 2015

From the Chancellor

Faculty and staff colleagues,

I want to take this opportunity, on my first day as your interim chancellor, to tell you how deeply honored I am to work once again alongside SIU Carbondale’s outstanding faculty and staff. The warm welcome and good wishes Mary and I have received over the last few weeks have reinforced our decision to return home to Southern Illinois and SIU.

While there are challenges ahead, I am confident that we will overcome them collaboratively. My goal during my first weeks on campus is to meet with and learn from as many individuals as possible – to hear your thoughts about what makes us special, what we can do better, and what opportunities you see ahead for SIU.

I look forward to the conversations and appreciate all you do for our university.

Sincerely,

Brad Colwell

Interim Chancellor
