Flu immunizations set

The Illinois Department of Central Management Services is providing free flu immunizations next month for all active and retired SIU Carbondale employees, as well as surviving spouses enrolled in a state-sponsored health plan. More

Second annual SIU Assessment Conference is next week

Early registration is encouraged for the second annual SIU Assessment Conference, “Actionable Assessment for Academic and Co-Curricular Learning.” The conference is from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 30 and Thursday, Oct. 1, in Morris Library. The conference is designed for faculty and staff including assessment coordinators and co-curricular staff in areas including academic advisers, student services, non-traditional student services and housing.

Registration is free, and lunch information is available here. If ordering lunch, the cost is $5 and must be ordered in advance. The deadline to pre-register is Monday, Sept. 28. Walk-ins are welcome but conference materials may be limited. For more information, contact Sharon Walters, assistant director, Assessment Program and Review Office, at 453-5669 or sharon@siu.edu. The campus-wide Assessment Committee and Co-Curricular Assessment Committee are conference sponsors, in cooperation with the associate provost for academic programs.


First Tuesday Trek set for Sept. 29

The inaugural “Tuesday Trek” for the fall 2015 semester is at 12:15 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 29. The 1.5- to 2.5 mile walk will begin at the Student Services Building Pavilion and go around Campus Lake. The trek will last about 45 minutes. In the event of inclement weather, the trek will be in the Student Recreation Center indoor track. More
