SIU earns honor for serving student veterans

Military Times magazine recently ranked SIU Carbondale among the best in the nation when it comes to assisting student veterans as they return the classroom. REACH Awards competition opens Dec. 1

The 2015-2016 Research-Enriched Academic Challenge (REACH) award competition opens Dec. 1 and closes Jan. 30 for full-time SIU Carbondale undergraduate students. Award recipients will be announced at the Undergraduate Creative Activities and Research Forum at 3 p.m., April 6, in the Student Center Ballrooms.

REACH awards of up to $1,500 support expenses associated with original creative activity or research projects by full-time undergraduates working with a faculty member are available.

Eligible awardees have the opportunity to be paid 10 hours per week for work on their projects during the fall 2015 and spring 2016 semesters. Award recipients will be required to present a poster detailing their research or creative activity projects at the Undergraduate Creative Activities and Research Forum in April 2016.
