Theodore R. Weeks, History, is the author of, “Vilnius Between Nations, 1795-2000,” a look at the development of the diverse cultural, religious, present-day capital of Lithuania.  Weeks is also author of three other books: “Nation and State in Late Imperial Russia,” “From Assimilation to Antisemitism: The ‘Jewish Question’ in Poland, 1850-1914,” and “Across the Revolutionary Divide: Russia and the USSR, 1861-1945,” and a co-author of “Making Europe: People, Politics, and Culture.”

Eileen R. Meehan, Radio, Television, and Digital Media, is one of 12 scholars featured in the book, “Key Thinkers in Critical Communications Scholarship: From the Pioneers to the Next Generation.”  Each scholar has an individual chapter with a profile of their achievements followed by an extensive interview. Among the 12 scholars are Noam Chomsky, Vincent Mosco, Janet Wasko, and Yuezhi Zhao. The book was published in August 2015.

Wendi Middleton, Health Education and Recreation, achieved Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) certification in October.

Jon Davey, School of Architecture, presented his research results in Educating Design Intuition at the 2015 Design Educators Conference in Toronto, Canada. The conference, held Nov. 14, was a partnership of The Association of Registered Graphic Designers (RGD) and George Brown College School of Design.

Aaron J. Diehr, Health Education and Recreation, was elected co-chair for the HIV/AIDS section of the American Health Association.

Heewon Yang, Health Education and Recreation, was appointed co-chair for the program committee of the 2016 American Therapeutic Recreation Association’s annual conference.

Heewon Yang, Health Education and Recreation, presented, “International Therapeutic Recreation Practice -- Current Status and Future Direction,” at the 2015 American Therapeutic Recreation Association conference in Albuquerque, N.M., in late September.

Nicole L. Davis, Hospitality and Tourism Administration, was recently re-elected president of the International Society of Travel and Tourism Educators (ISTTE). Davis teaches a variety of tourism-related courses in the areas of marketing, convention management and service, tourism and destination management and event planning. Davis began her first term as president in 2013.

Charla Lautar and Faith Y. Miller, Dental Hygiene, have a peer-reviewed poster, “Dental Hygiene Students’ Reflections Participating in a Dental Sealant Program,” accepted for presentation at the 2016 American Dental Education Association’s annual session & exhibition program, March 12-15, in Denver, Colo.
