Angela J. Aguayo, Cinema and Photography, and Faith Y. Miller, School of Allied Health, are the 2015 recipients of the Judge William Holmes Cook Endowed Professorship. This year’s recipients came from a pool of 19 outstanding nominees. Cook Professorships are three-year appointments that provide $7,500 annually to fund scholarly work, graduate assistantships, travel and other research related expenditures.

JD Tanner, Touch of Nature Environmental Center, is author of “Best Bike Rides Albuquerque and Santa Fe: The Recreational Rides in the Area.” The 272-page book published in May describes 40 of the greatest recreational rides in those areas of New Mexico.

Greg Hoffeditz, management, College of Business, recently wrote an article for the Civil Air Patrol Volunteer magazine’s July-September 2015 edition on 13-year-old cadet airman’s gift of Cardinals tickets to a young kidney transplant patient. Hoffeditz is a captain in the Civil Air Patrol and public affairs officer for the Illinois Wing.

Jan Thompson, Radio, Television, and Digital Media, attended the private ceremony July 20 at the Simon Wiesenthal Center’s Museum of Tolerance, during which Mitsubishi Materials Corp. executives apologized for using American POWs as forced labor in company mines during World War II. Thompson, who has two documentaries on the American POWs in the Pacific, also delivered remarks as president of the American Defenders of Bataan and Corregidor Memorial Society.
