Sara Baer, Plant Biology, received a 2014 College of Arts and Sciences Award from Kansas State University for professional excellence, outstanding achievements and dedication to serving her community. Her research focuses on plant, soil and ecosystem response to grassland restoration.

David Gibson, Plant Biology, is the author of “Methods in Comparative Plant Population Ecology,” second edition, published by Oxford University Press. The book provides practical advice to students and researchers on how to establish research programs and achieve effective experimental design.

David J. Olive, Mathematics, is the author of “Statistical Theory and Inference,” published by Springer.

Nicholas Smaligo, Philosophy (teaching assistant), recently authored his first book, "The Occupy Movement Explained: From Corporate Control to Democracy." The book provides an insider’s account of the movement. 

Terri S. Wilson, Educational Administration and Higher Education and Philosophy, was elected to a three-year term on the board of directors of the John Dewey Society, which exists to keep alive Dewey’s commitment to the use of critical and reflective intelligence in the search for solutions to problems in education and culture.
