Media Advisory – SIU Day of Giving and 150th Anniversary

The SIU community will come together on Wednesday, March 6, for the third annual SIU Day of Giving. This year's event also coincides with the launch of a year-long celebration of the university's 150th anniversary.

Reporters, photographers and news crews are invited to cover the event, including remarks by Chancellor John Dunn, at 2 p.m. in Morris Library’s first floor rotunda, a surprise presentation celebrating SIU's birthday and a birthday cake. Chancellor Dunn will be available to talk with reporters immediately after the event.

The SIU Day of Giving is a 24-hour fundraising campaign that allows supporters of the university to donate online at siuday.siu.edu to the area of campus of their choice. Last year, nearly $480,000 was raised through more than 1,800 individual donations.
