University earns international award for eclipse events

The university’s eclipse events have been recognized with a grand gold award from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education. CASE is an international association of 3,700 colleges, universities and independent schools.


Upcoming ‘Summer Summit’ conferences scheduled

Upcoming “2018 Summer Summit” professional development conferences for faculty and staff are June 27 and July 24. The conference is designed for deans, associate deans, assistant deans, faculty, academic advisors, assessment committee members, recruitment and retention coordinators, the registrar’s office, and undergraduate admissions staff. 


Wrongly jailed for almost seven years, professor works to reform Filipino prisons 

Every day, hundreds of Filipino prisoners sit in over-crowded and under-funded jails awaiting trial. Many have been there for months, and even years, and are yet to be convicted of any crime. But as a former inmate himself, Raymund Narag, Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice, is out to reform these challenging situations.


“9 to 5”: Pre-show lecture to explore themes associated with sexual harassment, #MeToo 

Sexual harassment in the workplace is all over the news and the topic draws strong emotional reactions. Join a discussion on the issue, and how it relates to McLeod Summer Playhouse’s latest production, “9 to 5: The Musical” on Sunday.
