SIU System President Dan Mahony and SIU Carbondale Chancellor Austin Lane were in Washington, D.C., on June 25, meeting with U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin of Illinois to discuss maintaining research funding. Lane and Mahony met with other members of Illinois’ congressional delegation, including U.S. Sen. Tammy Duckworth and U.S. Rep. Mike Bost, R-Murphysboro.
