Workshop on artificial intelligence is today
A live interactive workshop on how artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming opportunity discovery across careers, research, entrepreneurship and innovation is at 5 p.m. today (Nov. 5) in the SIU Student Center Auditorium.
“The Future of Opportunity Discovery: An AI Founder Talk and Live Workshop” is presented by Johnbosco Nnamso, a doctoral student researcher in computer science and a research and teaching assistant in SIU Carbondale’s School of Computing. The workshop is from 5–6:30 p.m. Refreshments will be provided.
The free workshop is open to SIU students in all majors, faculty and staff. The presentation will examine how AI is changing the way emerging opportunities are recognized and turned into innovations that create real-world impact. Participants will take part in a live interactive opportunity discovery workshop. Students may register here; faculty and staff may register here.
Henry Hexmoor, professor of computer science and program director of SIU’s Artificial Intelligence+ program, will participate in the faculty perspectives and discussion session.
Nnamso holds a master’s degree in electrical and computer engineering from SIU Carbondale. His research focuses on artificial intelligence, machine learning, intelligent embedded systems, and scalable software architectures.
The workshop is in collaboration with SIU’s Success in Engineering through Excellence and Diversity program, with support from the National Society of Black Engineers, SIU Carbondale TechDawgs and the SIU student chapter of Women in CyberSecurity (WiCyS).
