Go rock climbing in Giant City in November

Touch of Nature Outdoor Education Center invites Salukis to spend a day exploring the sandstone bluffs of Giant City State Park for free on Sunday, Nov. 15.

Underway Adventures offers climbers of all experience levels the opportunity to tackle the park’s towering sandstone verticals during a day of adventure, fun and discovery. Expert guides will lead participants through skills to ensure a safe and exciting experience and the opportunity to soak in breathtaking views. The beginner-friendly climbs start at the Makanda Bluff at Shelter One, the tallest climbing cliff in the park. The activity is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. depending on the weather.

Transportation to Giant City and back to campus, instruction and all equipment are provided. The registration deadline is Nov. 12 and space is limited. Register here. This journey, along with information on other activities, is available on the Underway Adventures website. For more information, contact Andrew Taylor at the Touch of Nature Outdoor Education Center.
