Saluki Takeover Tour hits Champaign this week
SIU staff will be in Central Illinois this week on the second stop of the 2026-2027 Saluki Takeover Tour. These tours emphasize SIU’s recruiting commitment for students throughout Illinois. Staff will visit area high schools and colleges in the region Wednesday through Friday, Sept. 16-18, to meet with administrators and students. The Saluki football team will be there too to face host Illinois at Geis Memorial Stadium at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19.
The SIU Foundation will host a Chancellor’s Reception to reconnect with Saluki alumni and friends at The Venue CU from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 17.
The visit is the first of several this fall as the Salukis Takeover Tour continues in Illinois and Texas. After Atlanta, this fall’s schedule is:
- Oct. 27-30 — Chicago.
- Nov. 16-20 — Dallas and Houston, Texas.
