SIU Carbondale welcomes 21 new tenure-track faculty this fall
CARBONDALE, Ill. — Southern Illinois University Carbondale is welcoming 21 new tenure-track faculty to campus for the 2026-2027 school year.
Marc Morris, interim co-provost, vice chancellor for academic affairs and dean of the College of Business and Analytics, said he’s pleased to welcome “this outstanding group of faculty” to SIU Carbondale.
“Faculty are at the heart of everything we do — educating and mentoring our students, advancing knowledge through research and creative activity, and using their expertise to serve our communities and beyond,” he said. “These new colleagues bring impressive scholarly credentials, professional experience and fresh perspectives to disciplines across the university.
“Their decision to join SIU speaks to the strength of our academic community and to the opportunities that come with being a Research 1 university that remains deeply committed to student access and success,” Morris said. “We are investing not simply in positions, but in people who will help shape the future of SIU and the students we serve. I look forward to seeing what they accomplish as members of Saluki Nation.”
