Businesses can sign up for SIU’s Fall 2026 Job and Internship Fair
CARBONDALE, Ill. — Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s Career Development Center is hosting its Fall 2026 Job and Internship Fair on Sept. 15 to connect Salukis with career and internship opportunities.
The event is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Student Center Ballrooms, and businesses can sign up now to participate. More than 65 businesses have already registered.
Open to all companies
The event assists businesses and university departments in identifying and hiring qualified people for full-time positions, internships, graduate school or fellowships. Any business, whether in the private or public sector, that is interested in hiring SIU students is welcome. Register at siu.joinhandshake.com.
The early bird deadline for employers is Friday, Aug. 14, and the deadline to be included in the employer list sent to faculty is Sept. 4. Additional information, including pricing, can be found on the job and internship fair webpage.
In addition, SIU campus departments, colleges, schools or units that are seeking interns can participate at no cost. They are asked to register soon as well.
Students participate for free
Undergraduate and graduate SIU students from all majors and SIU alumni are welcome to participate in the fair at no cost. Students and alumni can preregister and view a list of participating employers in Handshake. The Career Development Center also offers students assistance with preparing for interviews and writing resumes and cover letters by appointment through Handshake or by calling 618-453-2391.
Pre-fair resume critique sessions will be available Sept. 8-10 in the Student Center on the first floor. Please bring your resumes to the critique session. Students can obtain professional clothing to wear to the career fair and to interviews and then keep for free through the center’s Professional Clothing Closet, located in the Student Services Building, room 0110.
