Celebrate July 4 on campus

SIU faculty, staff and students are invited to celebrate Independence Day on campus with the annual July 4 fireworks display, hosted in partnership with the City of Carbondale. This year’s celebration will also feature a special live patriotic music performance by the Southern Illinois Music Festival in recognition of America at 250. 

The performance begins at 7:45 pm Saturday, July 4, in Lot 18 near Banterra Center. The fireworks display will follow at 9:15 pm. Food vendors will be available, and attendees are encouraged to arrive early. Recommended parking is available in Banterra Center lots 18 and 56. 

In the event of rain, the fireworks display will be postponed to Sunday, July 5, at 9:15 pm.
