The internal audit team is a resource

The fourth in a series from the SIU System Office of Internal Audit, Compliance and Ethics  provides more information about internal audits and how they benefit SIU.

As we wrap up the internal audit awareness series, we’d like to share a few other ways our office supports the university.

Report a concern ‑ anonymously if needed. The university's Ethics and Fraud Hotline routes to our office. If you see something that doesn't look right in your department or anywhere on campus, you can flag it and report it without identifying yourself.

Ask us to explain an audit finding. If your department has received an audit recommendation and you're not sure what it means or how to implement it, call us. We'd rather spend an hour helping you get it right than see the same issue resurface.

Internal Audit works best when it's seen as part of the university's team versus a separate group that shows up, delivers bad news, and leaves. Remember, our team is here to help, and we welcome your inquiries at any time.

Thank you for reading this series. If you have questions, feedback, or are just curious, visit our website: Internal Audit, Compliance and Ethics - SIU System.
