Roundtable talks will examine support for first year students

Faculty, staff and graduate assistants are invited to attend two first-year experience roundtable discussions this summer focusing on supporting students during their first year at SIU Carbondale.

The sessions will examine the unique transitions, challenges and experiences of students who are in college for the first time and for transfer students who are new to SIU. This is an opportunity to share concerns, discuss strategies for supporting students and learn about available campus resources.

The first-year experience roundtables, both taking place in the Student Services Building, Room 307, are:

• June 10 – 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
• July 9 – 8:30-10:30 a.m.

Registration is not required, and participants may come and go as their schedules allow.
