Multi-agency tornado response exercise on Tuesday
A multi-agency police and emergency management agency full-scale tornado response exercise is set from noon to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9, that will impact a few areas on the west side of the SIU Carbondale campus.
No buildings will be used in the exercise and traffic will not be impacted. The areas affected are lot 63, lot 59, and a grassy area northeast of McLafferty Road and Poultry Center Road. The parking lots (59 and 63) will be closed Tuesday. The multi-agency police/EMA presence will be in lot 63, and a medivac helicopter will be landing in the grass area.
