SIU blood drive set for June 4
SIU is hosting an American Red Cross community blood drive on Thursday, June 4.
The blood drive is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Student Center’s Renaissance Room. Donations are desperately needed as there is currently a shortage of all types of blood.
Register online by visiting redcrossblood.org/give.html/find-drive, typing in the zip code 62902 and clicking the “find drive” button and then locating the June 4 SIU event listing.
Blood is a perishable product that comes only from volunteer donations and according to the Red Cross, someone in the United States needs blood every two seconds. Giving this gift of life typically takes about an hour.
Organizers encourage faculty, staff, students and community members to donate.
