SIU Jazz Ensemble to perform Tuesday
As part of Jazz Appreciation Month, the SIU Jazz Ensemble will perform a free, public spring concert in the Old Baptist Foundation Recital Hall at SIU Carbondale at 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 14. The ensemble is directed by Isaac Lausell, associate professor and director of jazz studies in the SIU School of Music.
Other events to mark the month include:
- Saturday, April 18 — 7 p.m. Varsity Center, Carbondale. Union County Sal with the SquadFathers. Mood Indigo Show, Admission: $15.
- Monday, April 27 — 7 p.m. Marion High School Auditorium. The Jazz Alliance Big Band, Concert with the Southern Illinois Symphonic Winds. Free admission.
- Thursday, April 30 — 5 p.m. Hangar 9, Carbondale. Groov Jazz Experience, International Jazz Day performance. Free admission.
