Donate to HEROES on SIU Amnesty Day for ticket forgiveness
Donate to the HEROES program and get your parking ticket forgiven.
SIU’s Amnesty Day is March 30, and thanks to a collaboration among the university’s Undergraduate Student Government, the Department of Public Safety and Student Health Services – donations can cancel out parking tickets and win prizes.
Here’s how it works. Bring items to the south entrance of the Student Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Donate five items to be eligible for forgiveness of one ticket up to $35 (late fees excluded) OR to receive one entry in a prize giveaway. Donate 10 items and choose to get either two drawing entries or one ticket forgiven and one prize entry.
Donations of personal hygiene and household products such as cleaning items, laundry supplies and bedding are welcomed for the HEROES store. All items must be new and unopened. A wide variety of items will be up for grabs in the drawing including gift cards, T-shirts and other nice prizes.
