Students can register now for 2026 Creative Activities and Research Presentations

Registration is now open for the Creative Activities and Research Presentations (CARP), set for Thursday, April 9, at the Student Center in the second-floor Art Alley. Students are invited to display posters explaining their projects.

The office of the Vice Chancellor for Research, the Graduate School, Graduate Student Council and Sigma Xi are collaborating on this year’s event, which celebrates research, scholarly and creative activities of SIU undergraduate and graduate students in all disciplines. Any students who worked under the guidance of a faculty mentor during the last semester can display and present their projects.

On April 9, check-in will open at 8:30 a.m. for session 1 which is from 9:35-10:50 a.m. Check-in will start at 10:15 a.m. for session 2, which is from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

The event will open to the campus and public at 12:30 p.m. Awards are held at 3:30 p.m. in Old Main that day, with light refreshments served. The REACH awardees for 2026-2027 are also announced at the awards ceremony. 

The deadline to register is April 2. Two registration steps are required to participate:

  • Interested students must sign up at 2026 CARP Poster Presenter to download and complete the registration form, and upload one pdf for judge previews.
  • Next, student participants should click on SignUpGenius to choose their session.

Faculty and graduate students who are interested in judging poster presentations may also use SignUpGenius to register.
