Roundtable talks to examine support for first year students

Faculty, staff and graduate assistants are invited to attend three first-year experience roundtable discussions this semester about supporting students in their first year at SIU Carbondale.

The sessions will examine the unique transitions, challenges and experiences of first-time-in-college students and transfer students who are new to SIU. This is an opportunity to share concerns, discuss strategies to support students and learn about available campus resources.

The first-year experience roundtables are:

• Feb. 18 — 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Faculty and Staff Lounge, Student Center, Old Main Room.
• March 18 — 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Faculty and Staff Lounge, Old Main Room.
• April 22 — 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Faculty and Staff Lounge, Student Center, Old Main Room.

Registration is not required, and participants may come and go as their schedules allow.
