Streamlined research proposal management system starts Feb. 1

The Office of Sponsored Projects Administration (OSPA) will begin using a new cloud-based system on Feb. 1 that streamlines how sponsored project proposals and awards are created, routed, tracked and reported.

The Kuali Research (KR) module will replace many manual processes and allow users to submit proposals, complete certifications, route for approvals, track compliance, and access current and pending reports and active awards.

The phased rollout on Feb. 1 will involve a limited number of users who are required to use KR during the initial phase. Training is available for faculty, staff and others involved in sponsored projects as well as school directors, deans and other leaders who review and approve proposals.

Multiple Microsoft Teams sessions are offered for each topic, and users need to attend only one session per topic. More information about the KR module and training dates is available. All sessions will be recorded and posted on the Kuali Research webpage for on-demand viewing for anyone unable to attend a live training session. One-on-one and department training is also available after Feb. 1.
