Visit the Student Center for Halloween fun
The campus community is invited to celebrate Halloween with a variety of special activities and promotions at the Student Center on Friday, Oct. 31.
Stop by the Marketplace between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and “Spin to Scream” – spin to win prizes, that is – and guess how many candy corns are in the Jar of Souls to win a pumpkin filled with treats.
The Office of Student Engagement is offering “Popcorn Massacre,” free spooky popcorn cups in the first-floor art gallery, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. “Dead Man’s Roll,” better known as cosmic bowling, is happening from 11 a.m.-9:30 p.m. at Bowling and Billiards. Make your own “Faces of the Forgotten” at the Craft Shop, noon-4:30 p.m. All paint and decorations/supplies are provided to enable you to create a cool cardboard mask.
What would a Halloween celebration be without costumes? Don your best funny, scary or crazy getup and stop by the Roman Room from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for “Shutter and Shiver.” Marketing and Graphics will snap pictures of all costumed visitors for judging, with prizes awarded to winners. And all who wear a costume can get a 10% discount at any of the Student Center eating establishments or Delyte’s that day.
Starbucks (7:30 a.m.-7 p.m.) will offer a variety of special seasonal specialty drinks, including Pumpkin Farm Cold Brew, Zombie Bite, Butter Beer Latte while Delyte’s at Morris Library (7:30 a.m.-2 p.m.) will serve Dracula’s Mocha. Check out “Perkatory” and guess the number of espresso beans in a jar to win a large drink of choice and jack-o’-lantern filled with Halloween candy at Delyte’s as well.
