CARBONDALE, Ill. — Entries are now being accepted for Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s 2025 Homecoming parade, which will make its way through the city streets and onto campus, beginning at 10 a.m. Oct. 25.
Bands, floats and other groups are welcome to join the parade and compete for prizes. Enter by 4:30 p.m. Oct. 22.
This year’s homecoming theme is “Saluki Spooktacular,” a fitting recognition of the Oct. 20-26 celebration happening just before Halloween, and a host of special activities are planned throughout the week.
Small and large floats, cars/trucks, walking and equestrian units can submit parade entry applications on the website. High school and junior high bands can apply online to participate as well.
All parade participants should arrive between 8 and 9:30 a.m. to allow sufficient time for lineup. Find the complete rules and regulations along with registration forms and more on the homecoming parade website.
The parade begins at South Illinois Avenue and Mill Street, and the route wraps up in front of the Student Center on the SIU campus. Everyone is welcome to watch.
