Sign up now for SIU’s Saluki Open Pickleball Tournament
CARBONDALE, Ill. — Southern Illinois University Carbondale anticipates hundreds of people from the region and across the country be on campus Sept. 13-14 for the Saluki Open Pickleball Tournament.
Registration is now open for Recreational Sports and Services’ 2025 outdoor tourney, open to ages 12 and older. It all takes place on the 16-court Saluki Courts, located on Marion Rushing Lane in Carbondale.
The details
The fifth annual outdoor round robin tournament features several skill categories, assuring players compete against their peers. The event typically draws participants from as far away as California.
Spectators and media outlets are welcome to enjoy the action.
The schedule includes:
- Saturday, Sept. 13, starting at 8 a.m. – men’s and women’s doubles.
- Sunday, Sept. 14, starting at 8 a.m. – mixed doubles.
Finishing times will be determined by how long play lasts and the number of competitors. The courts will be open on Friday, Sept. 12, for practice
Discount for early registration
Sign up by 9 p.m. on July 31 for the reduced early registration fee of $40. After that, the cost will be $45 until Sept. 1 then $50 until the final registration deadline of 10 p.m. Sept. 7. SIU students can participate for the discount price of $25 with the code SIUStudent25.
