SIU Alumni Association hosting 618 Day celebration Wednesday
SIU Carbondale faculty and staff are invited to join in the festivities as the SIU Alumni Association hosts a staff appreciation social celebrating 618 Day on Wednesday, June 18.
The event is from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the association’s Alumni Courtyard Tent, located behind Woody Hall. Complimentary popcorn, soda and water will be available in celebration of SIU and the spirit of Southern Illinois.
The association is marking 618 Day with a series of events and a fundraising campaign aimed at expanding scholarship support for local students attending SIU Carbondale. The 618 Day regional celebration of pride, on June 18, is named after the area code that unites the region.
