Signup underway for April 19 Sibs and Kids Day

CARBONDALE, Ill. — SIU’s annual Sibs and Kids Day, set for April 19, gives siblings and children of current students the chance to experience for themselves the fun, adventure and excitement of Saluki life.

This year’s event features a full day of free activities, games, food and excitement. Children can participate in the morning or afternoon session or both. The goal is to showcase the campus to future Salukis.

Check-in is at 10 a.m. at the Student Center main entrance. Participants must be checked in to receive wristbands and have waivers signed. Activities are geared toward children ages 5-12, but all family members are welcome. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Bowling, Craft Shop activities and more at the Student Center will entertain the youngsters until 1:30 p.m. The afternoon session will see the participants enjoying themselves with the numerous amenities at the Student Recreation Center. The event wraps up at 5:30 p.m.

Register for Sibs and Kids Day online in advance if possible to allow organizers to better plan but late registrations will be accepted on-site at either location Children with disabilities are welcome; call 618-453-5738 to request accommodations.
