SIU Air Force ROTC, aviation students host squadron from Florida
SIU Air Force ROTC members and students from SIU aviation studies hosted a special operations squadron from Florida on Dec. 5.
The 19th Special Operations Squadron from Hurlburt Field, Florida, met at Southern Illinois Airport with Air Force ROTC Detachment 205 and SIU aviation students. All attendees received briefings from Lt. Col. Paul Redmond III and Capt. Jordan Furgeson.
A group of 12 cadets also received an hourlong incentive flight in the squadron’s PC-12 aircraft, during which they flew along the Mississippi River.
