SIU Sustainability office relocates, launches survey

by Christi Mathis

The SIU Sustainability Office and Hub have moved to a new, enhanced location at the Student Center, near the International Lounge at the south end of the second floor.

“Our new space better supports our mission, creates a more sustainable and accessible environment for all, marks a significant upgrade and will put us in a position to offer many more services to students,” said Aimee Lemrise, sustainability director.

Work is underway to put the finishing touches on the new office, which is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Lemrise invites the campus community and visitors to stop by any time the office is open to learn more about SIU sustainability, take a tour and get involved in making the campus greener and more sustainable.

In addition, the Sustainability Office has launched an online survey to seek input on the products and services it should provide to best serve SIU, and all students, faculty and staff are invited to participate to help shape future efforts. Lemrise said after the survey results are compiled, an open house will be held to showcase the new sustainability office hub location in October.
