Saluki Special offers chance to dine for reduced price at Trueblood, Lenz on Aug. 14

by Christi Mathis

SIU’s Culinary and Nutrition Area, commonly known as “Dining,” is offering a Saluki Special during move-in this year. This gives faculty and staff the opportunity to try the delicious campus fare at a discount.

On Wednesday, Aug. 14, meals in Trueblood and Lentz Dining are available to anyone for the reduced price of $7 plus tax. Pay at the front door via debit card, credit card or Debit Dawg.

Both dining halls provide an all-you-care-to-eat dine-in experience and Trueblood Dining features the Grill, which is a Mongolian-style flattop grill where guests can choose their proteins, vegetables and sauce options and then watch as their food is prepared. The dining hall hours are 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. that day. University Housing officials note that the dining halls support the Imagine 2030 sustainability pillar through composting food leftovers in partnership with SIU Student Sustainable Farms.
