Showcase SIU at the Du Quoin State Fair on Aug. 31
Academic units, departments, student organizations and individuals will have an opportunity to showcase the great programs and services that SIU Carbondale provides to our region and beyond as a part of SIU Day at the Du Quoin State Fair on Saturday, Aug. 31.
Events and Outreach is requesting volunteers for the event from noon to 3 p.m. in the Second Heat building, located on Midway Drive across from the walk-in plaza (Gates 5-6) and an adjacent outdoor area. The building is air conditioned, with access to electrical outlets and the internet. There is outdoor space immediately outside the building for activities better suited for that setting. To learn more and participate, fill out this form by Aug. 22.
For SIU Day, parking is free for all SIU students, faculty and staff with a valid ID. Everyone is encouraged to attend, wear maroon and have fun.
SIU/College Day and Coal Heritage Day features USAC Silver Crown and UMP Modified races during the day. More information about fair festivities will be posted.
