New forms for time-keeping
Effective July 1, all monthly paid exempt and nonexempt administrative/professional (AP) and semi-monthly paid civil service employees should use revised time recording sheets. These changes were implemented to simplify the time recording process due to the recent Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) changes, which include raising the salary for overtime eligibility to $43,888 annually.
Exempt employees are not eligible for overtime pay, while non-exempt employees are eligible.
Here are links to the revised forms:
- Exempt AP and Semi-Monthly Civil Service Employee Time Recording Sheet
- Non-Exempt AP and Semi-Monthly Civil Service Employee Time Recording Sheet
Semi-monthly employees will notice that the 1st - 15th of each month as well as the 16th - 31st are now listed on one timesheet instead of two separate time recording sheets. Semi-monthly employees should report their time as described below:
- Pay period covering the 1st – 15th of the month: Record time worked for this portion of the month. Once completed, then submit to your normal department contact/supervisor at the end of the pay period.
- Pay period covering the 16th – 31st of the month: Add time worked for this period to the same time sheet used for the first half of the month. Once completed, then submit to your normal department contact/supervisor at the end of the pay period.
Employees who have worked approved overtime may use Request for Overtime Credit.
All biweekly paid employees will continue to use the Civil Service Biweekly Employee Time Recording Sheet, and all faculty will continue to use the existing Faculty Time Reporting Log.
