SIU welcomes students back to campus with fun events in January

CARBONDALE, Ill. — Southern Illinois University Carbondale celebrates Salukis in Unity the first two weeks of the spring semester with a series of fun, engaging events to promote diversity and celebrate the uniqueness of each student as part of ongoing efforts to increase student involvement and foster college success. Units throughout campus are collaborating to present a wide variety of entertaining, educational activities for new and returning students.

The Involvement Fair, set for 5-7 p.m. on Jan. 18 at the Student Center Ballrooms, introduces students to many of the more than 275 student organizations. Dawgs Nite Out, from 7 to 11 p.m. Jan. 20 at the Student Center Ballrooms, features games, inflatables, a roller rink, food and more for students.

Numerous other activities are planned Jan. 15-27, including movies, sporting events, panel discussions, “meet your leadership” events, a trivia night, crafts, giveaways and much more.
