Media advisory: Sharp Museum dedication on Friday

CARBONDALE, Ill. — Southern Illinois University Carbondale, the SIU Foundation and the University Museum will host a dedication ceremony from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, at the University Museum (1000 Faner Drive, Carbondale). The event will honor a $1 million donation made by Professor James Franklin Sharp by dedicating the museum’s new name, Sharp Museum.

Sharp will be joined by SIU Carbondale Chancellor Austin Lane, SIU System President Dan Mahony, Vice Chancellor for Development and Alumni Relations Matt Kupec and many others as the new name is unveiled.
