SIU adopts NEOED job applicant tracking system

SIU Carbondale is transitioning from its current job applicant tracking software, HireTouch, to NEOED effective no later than Jan. 1, 2024. HireTouch will continue to be fully operational through the end of the 2023 calendar year. 

Last year, the university was informed that HireTouch would no longer be available. In response, SIU Carbondale, SIU Edwardsville and the SIU School of Medicine officials have diligently reviewed alternatives and selected a new vendor, NEOED. 

NEOED brings extensive experience in building applicant tracking systems for large and complex higher education institutions and government agencies. Officials said NEOED has demonstrated it can provide a more seamless process, especially for applicants, ultimately enhancing recruitment efforts. 

A team of experts from the three campuses is focused on the successful implementation of NEOED and committed to supporting the campus community through the transition. That team comprises internal and external project managers; implementation consultants; information technology, human resources and communications professionals; and end users. 

What to Expect 

Below are some key items that current HireTouch users should know about the transition: 

Training opportunities: The SIU Project Implementation Team will hold multiple training opportunities to help users become familiar with the NEOED system. The team will schedule training in a phased approach, and the training sessions will ensure users have the knowledge and confidence to navigate the new system effectively. 

Launch date: The implementation team is working diligently to implement the NEOED system before the sunset of HireTouch at the close of 2023. Users should expect that there will be elements of continuous improvement and implementing additional system features after the initial launch that could extend into the first half of 2024.  

Preservation of historical data: It is essential to note that once HireTouch is deactivated on the last day of December, you will no longer have access to any historical data within the system. Critical HireTouch data will be archived for permanent storage. Should you need any historical data from the system, please contact Human Resources at hrinfo@siu.edu.

This will be your main resource for information, so please check it on a regular basis for project updates.
