Workshops focus on arts and humanities, early career grant funding

Two “Let’s Talk Research” workshops on obtaining funding for faculty projects and research are set for early in May.

The first workshop, set for 1-2 p.m. May 4 on Zoom, will address finding funding opportunities for arts and humanities projects. The workshop will cover topics such as using online tools and databases to find funding programs, as well as writing proposals to federal funding agencies.  

Participants must register for the workshop. 

Obtaining early career research funding is the topic of the second workshop, titled “Early Career Research Funding Opportunity Workshop,” and set for 2-4 p.m. May 5 at Morris Library, Room 752.  

Organizers will discuss research funding opportunities from the National Science Foundation, Department of Defense, NASA, National Institutes of Health, the National Security Agency and others. Previous SIU awardees and those who have served as reviewers for NSF CAREER proposals will present guidance on how to prepare applications.
