Administrative paid leave for COVID-19 ends May 11

The Department of Human Resources wants to remind university employees that they will no longer be able to take administrative paid leave time due to COVID-19, effective May 11. This is consistent with Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s decision in January to end the state’s public health emergency.

SIU’s policy was contingent on the emergency declaration. Employees will be able to use their own paid sick time or vacation time, if available. The change does not affect any work-from-home agreements, which are contingent on department approval.
