Lavender Graduation volunteers, sponsors sought
SIU is hosting its annual Lavender Graduation on April 28 at 5 p.m. in the Old Main Room of the Student Center to recognize LGBTQ+ student graduates. Volunteers and sponsors are needed to assist with the ceremony.
Dozens of SIU students will be participating in the graduation, with their invited guests in attendance. All who wish to participate must sign up by April 1 online. The event is sponsored by the LGBTQ Resource Center, the College of Arts and Media, the School of Communication Students, the Student Multicultural Resource Center, ConsciousCafes.com, Wil Clark an Brian Rhodes and the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Anti-racism, Diversity and Inclusion.
Volunteers are needed to assist with to help with various aspects of the ceremony. Financial sponsorships are also welcomed to assist with expenses for the event and reception to follow.
