CARBONDALE, Ill. — Bryan Konefsky, a moving image artist, teacher, lecturer, and the founder and director of Experiments in Cinema, an annual international film festival in Albuquerque, New Mexico, will present a lecture on Thursday, March 9, at Southern Illinois University Carbondale.

Konefsky will present “Happiness is a Warm Projector: The Cinematic Meanderings of Bryan Konefsky,” from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in Browne Auditorium (Parkinson Hall, Room 124). The discussion is free and open to SIU students, faculty and the general public. The lecture is supported by the School of Media Arts’ Fine Arts Activity Fee.

In addition to showcasing some of his own films, Konefsky will present a selection of motion pictures that have screened at the Experiments in Cinema film festival, which showcases avant-garde cinematic art. “Senses of Cinema,” an Australian-based online film journal has identified Experiments in Cinema as one of the top 10 experimental film festivals in the world.
