Media Advisory: 680 students from around Illinois to attend FFA night at SIU

CARBONDALE, Ill. – A record 680 students from around the state are signed up for Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s ninth annual FFA night during Tuesday’s Saluki men’s basketball game. Reporters, photographers and news crews are invited to cover the event, along with others set for earlier that day. 

The evening begins at 5 p.m. at the SIU Student Center with an educational session. The event includes remarks by representatives from Farm Credit Illinois and a student panel of Agbassadors from SIU’s College of Agricultural, Life, and Physical Sciences. The FFA students later will adjourn to the Banterra Center for a group photo with Coach Bryan Mullins at approximately 6:15 p.m. 

Among the students planning to attend are groups from the Chicago High School of Agricultural Sciences and Horizon Science Academy – Southwest Chicago.
