Faculty development support is available

The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research is announcing a program that will provide partial support to faculty to attend state, national or international conferences, professional meetings or creative events.

These non-competitive travel grants can be up to $500 for one co-author and one in-person or virtual event per year. Funds will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis and distributed as long as the funds are available.

The faculty must have been invited or accepted to officially participate in the event; have a paper accepted, make a presentation (poster or oral) that they have authored or co-authored, or present an exhibit or performance. Proof of the invitation and acceptance must be provided along with the request.

Information for this program can be found  on  the VCR website. The site has links to the application form and the program rules. These travel grants will be funded by the increased indirect cost recovery funds returned to the OVCR.

The Graduate Council’s research committee and Faculty Senate provided feedback in helping start the program.
