COVID-19 booster clinic is Dec. 7 in Student Center
SIU and the Jackson County Health Department will hold a walk-up COVID-19 booster clinic for faculty, staff and students from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 7 at the Student Center’s ground floor main intersection.
The new bivalent COVID-19, both Pfizer and Moderna, will be available at no charge. No appointment is necessary. Those wishing to receive a booster are asked to bring their COVID-19 vaccination card, if possible.
The bivalent booster is recommended for anyone who has completed their primary vaccination series, and it has been at least two months since their last dose or booster. The new booster targets both the original strain of the virus which causes COVID-19, as well as newer omicron subvariants. The campus community is encouraged to protect themselves and their loved ones over semester break by getting their boosters.
